Weston High Students, Staff Take the 'Penguin Plunge'
Five students and one staff members braved chilly water to help raise more than $1,000 for the Connecticut Special Olympics.
Five Weston High School students and one staff members hopped into chilly water in order to raise money for the Connecticut Special Olympics.
On Saturday, March 9, the group—students Grace Gulino, Catharine Kimberly, Anna Kimberly, Colin Huang and Hank Weinstock and staff member Simone Koproski—participated in the Penguin Plunge at Compo Beach in Westport. They hopped in to 38-degree water as they raised over $1,000 for the cause.
Altoghter, more than $90,000 was raised collectively by those who participated in the event.

The students are members of the high school's Circle of Friends club, and club president Weinstock said they're still accepting donations for the Special Olympics. Those interested can mail checks to Weston High School, 115 School Road, Weston, Conn. 06883 — Attention: Circle of Friends Club.
The jerserys worn by the team were donated by the Weston High School Football Team.
