What was the holiday season like on the home front during World War II? On your guided tour, explore the Coley House decorated as it would have been during the 1940s and learn about how the holidays were celebrated during World War II. Also, explore how the Coley family lived, worked, and played during the 1940s. Using photographic evidence and historic research, rooms on the first floor have been interpreted in the 1941 - 1945 period when three generations of the Coley family occupied the home. No other historic house in Connecticut reflects the 1940s era which makes the Coley House unique!
Complete your visit by exploring three self-guided exhibits in the Coley House: "Life in the 40s- 1840s, 1940s & 2040", "Let's Play" & "Twelve Stories of Weston History", and the exhibit "Weston Illustrated: Penned, Painted and Sculpted" in our Visitor’s Center, which explores influential artists between 1919-1965 and their connection to both the locals and locale of Weston.
