Weston Public Library Receives $192K State Grant For Accessibility And Energy Improvements

Weston Public Library secures $192,100 state funding to enhance accessibility, emergency preparedness, and energy conservation.

WESTON, CT – The Weston Public Library will receive a $192,100 state grant aimed at improving accessibility, emergency preparedness, and energy conservation measures, State Senator Ceci Maher announced today.

Maher, a Democrat representing the 26th Senate District, praised the State Bond Commission's decision, noting that the funding will support vital upgrades, making the library more resilient to weather events and accessible to more community members. The improvements will also lower operating expenses through enhanced energy efficiency.

"The Weston Public Library offers a vital resource to the community, allowing for education, entertainment, and great local events that bring many of us together," Maher said. "I'm grateful to the Bond Commission and Governor Lamont for their support of our region."

The grant, awarded on August 1, is part of the Connecticut State Library's program to support public library construction, covering up to half of eligible project costs.
