Weston Resident Wins $50,000 Playing Powerball

WESTON, CT — Tiffany Donovan of Weston recently won $50,000 on Powerball drawn on July 27, 2016. Donovan told lottery officials that she was celebrating her 16th anniversary when a friend suggested she play Powerball. she bought a Quick Pick tickets at Weston Hardware, checked her numbers online later and said she couldn’t believe what she saw.

“My heart started to pound a little," she said and soon called her husband telling him, "I think we won $50,000!” The winning numbers drawn on July 27th were ---- 10 – 47 – 50 – 65 – 68 – Powerball: 24 ---- with Donovan matching 4 numbers and the Powerball.

The Donovans fly to England for a relative’s birthday and had their honeymoon in England.

Donovan told Lottery officials, “Today is my Mother-in-law’s birthday,” while claiming her prize. Donovan’s winning ticket was sold at Weston Hardware & Houseware located on 190 Weston Road in Weston.
