Weston Romps To Boys Lacrosse Class S Championship

The Trojans netted 12 of the game's final 13 goals to overpower Northwest Catholic by a 16-3 margin.

FAIRFIELD, CT — With eight minutes remaining in the first half of Sunday's CIAC Class S boys lacrosse championship game, Weston led Northwest Catholic by a 4-2 margin. Suddenly, the Trojans erupted for seven unanswered goals over the next 17 minutes, cruising to a 16-3 victory and the program's second consecutive state title.

Weston won the Class M crown in 2021, and earned its fifth state title overall Sunday at Sacred Heart University. Northwest Catholic was making its first appearance in a state final.

Rowan Bradshaw-Mack scored the first five goals for the Trojans, winding up with six overall. Nicholas Possick and Renzo Garone each tallied three goals, William Harris netted two and Nicolas Bilbao and Anderson Orr scored one apiece.

For the Lions, John Staunton had two goals and Patrick O'Shaughnessy added the other.
