Weston RTC Announces New Members

The following is a press release sent by Barbara King on behalf of the Weston Republican Town Committee.

Five GOP voters have come forward to fill vacancies on the Weston Republican Town Committee. 

“This presidential election year is invigorating the party, evidenced by the outstanding new members we have attracted,” said Britta Lerner, RTC chair. “The new recruits bring a variety of strengths which will help our message reach voters all across the spectrum.”  

Dawn Rivera, a native Westonite, is following in her mother’s public service footsteps. Rivera brings a corporate finance background to the RTC along with a variety of community service roles including the Weston Newcomers Club and Juvenile Diabetes Foundation

Marguerite Terzian was Chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission and also served on the Conservation Commission. 

Thomas Capola has resided in Weston for six years along with his wife and four children. He is an asset management entrepreneur with vast financial experience.

Theresa Brasco also has a strong finance background having worked for the Federal Reserve. Since 2001, she has assisted in compiling financial and management reports to town boards. Brasco also serves as Deputy Republican Registrar. 

Weston Newcomer Carole Berg has a teaching and real estate background.  Her political experience includes the Fairfield Tea Party.  

And Glenn Van Duesen, recently elected as a Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate, is an entrepreneur. He counts Kiwanis, Weston Warmup Fund and Americares as well as the Prevent Blindness America Board among his community service. 

The five new members bring the RTC to its maximum number of 25. Each will be assigned to a specific committee of interest which will provide the teamwork to ensure success in the 2012 elections. All Republicans are welcome to attend the RTC’s regular meetings on the second Tuesday of the month at 8 p.m. in the Meeting Room.
