Weston's Grand List Up $19 Million

Grand list climbs higher, slowly.

’s grand list grew by 0.73 percent over last year’s list, according to figures released by Town Assessor Ken Whitman last month.

The increase — a $19,216,037 bump from $2,636,705,549 to $2,655,921,586 — is a larger percentage then the 0.42 percent increase last year.

The grand list incorporates all of the taxable property in the town: real estate, motor vehicles and business personal property. Real estate accounts for over 94 percent of the grand list, according to Whitman, and that category saw a .51 percent bump to $2.52 billion. Motor vehicles saw the largest percentage change, up 5.57 percent to $117.7 million, while business personal property improved $210,000 to $19.24 million, an increase of 1.1 percent.
