FAIRFIELD, CT — In the CIAC Class S girls lacrosse championship match Tuesday at Sacred Heart University, top-ranked Weston was held scoreless for the first 10 and a half minutes. Once the Trojans began finding the net, however, they never ceased, powering their way to a 13-6 victory over No. 2 New Fairfield.

The Rebels grabbed an early lead, but Weston's Sarah Zwack posted a natural hat trick with three consecutive goals in a 1:14 span. The Trojans entered halftime with a 6-3 lead.

After intermission, the Weston offense kicked right back into high gear, scoring the first four and six of the first seven goals after the break.

New Fairfield, which had won the past five Class S tournaments, had a half-dozen players score one goal apiece: Julia Nitti, Evelyn Butorac, Kate Morgan, Meghan DeBellis, Brenna Romanello and Ava O'Rourke.
