Weston Wins Third Straight Lacrosse State Title By Topping St. Joseph
The Trojans scored five unanswered goals in an eight and a half minute stretch of the second half to cop its second straight Class S crown.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Last year, Weston won the Class S boys lacrosse title in convincing fashion, trouncing Northwest Catholic 16-3 in the title match. This year's return trip to Sacred Heart University promised to be a tougher task, as the second-seeded Trojans faced No. 1 St. Joseph.
Indeed, the Cadets showed justification for their top ranking by grabbing early leads of 3-1 and 4-2. Weston tallied three straight goals to claim a 5-4 lead, but John Karafa of St. Joseph knotted it at 5-all just three seconds before intermission.
Rowan Bradshaw-Mack of Weston and the Cadets' Raffe Katts exchanged goals in the first eight minutes of the second half, then Alexander Nevitt netter the go-ahead goal for the Trojans with 1:21 remaining in the third quarter. That proved to be the eventual game-winner, as Weston tacked on four more goals in the final period to lock up the program's sixth state crown since 2007.
