Winter Team State Championship History: Weston, Joel Barlow

WESTON-REDDING, CT — As practices for high school winter sports officially get underway in Connecticut Monday (girls basketball, ice hockey and wrestling) and Thursday (boys basketball, indoor track, boys swimming and girls gymnastics), hopes run high for all teams to achieve the ultimate goal: winning a league championship, and possibly a state title.

To help squads get into the championship mentality, here is a listing of the 38 CIAC winter team titles won by Weston and Joel Barlow high schools in past years (* - indicates a co-op team).

Joel Barlow

• girls gymnastics (4) - Class S: 1991, 1990, 1989, 1988
• girls basketball (2) - Class L: 2007; Class M: 1995
