REDDING, CT — A growing group of women entrepreneurs is injecting new life into downtown Redding with the opening of several new businesses that emphasize collaboration, creativity and local economic growth.
The Shops at Auburn Landing, a newly launched cooperative space at 28 Main Street in Redding’s Georgetown village, now houses three businesses: Lily Astraea, Five and Nine Designs, and The Shop. Just down the street, Yoga Station & Wellness has also opened its doors at 9 Brookside Road. Together, these businesses mark a notable increase in female-led enterprises in the area.
The Shops at Auburn Landing will host a grand opening celebration on Sunday, May 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring live music by Thin Men, refreshments, and in-store promotions.

Sanderson is joined by Laura Verses, owner of the luxury jewelry store Five and Nine Designs, and Jacqui Coleman, co-owner of The Shop, a curated vintage clothing and home goods store. Nearby, Whitney Coccaro opened Yoga Station & Wellness, offering movement classes and a community-focused wellness retreat.
They join other recent female-founded businesses in Redding, including Old Mill Market, Love and Light Salon, Wild Blueberry, Stems and Co., and The Georgetown Owl Market and Saloon.
"I’ve always believed that as small business owners—especially women—we’re stronger when we lift each other up and create an environment where we can all thrive together," said Verses.
