2 Women Accused Of Shoplifting From Store In Downtown Westport: Police

The incident occurred over the weekend, according to authorities.

WESTPORT, CT — Two women, both from New Haven, were arrested on larceny charges over the weekend, after Westport police said the two shoplifted just over $600 worth of clothing from the 2nd Street store on Main Street in downtown Westport.

Eboney Wood, 45, and Tyesha Wood, 29, were both charged with fifth-degree larceny in connection with the Sunday incident.

Police said officers were called to the store, after staff said they saw the two shoplifting items.

"One of the two, later identified as Eboney Wood, was seen manipulating items from the displays prior to the second, later identified as Tyesha Wood, concealing that same merchandise in a bag," wrote Westport Police Lt. Anthony Prezioso in a statement.

As officers arrived, Tyesha Wood was seen "concealing a pair of shoes in a bag that she was carrying," before the two left the store without paying.
