2nd Suspect Accused Of Car Tire & Rim Theft In Westport: Police

Westport police began investigating the thefts last fall.

WESTPORT, CT — A 25-year-old West Haven man was arrested last week by Westport police on larceny charges, the second suspect accused of stealing tires and rims from vehicles at dealerships in Westport, according to authorities.

William Higgins was arrested on May 1, and was charged with:

  • First-degree larceny
  • Second-degree larceny
  • Conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny
  • Conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny

Higgins and Hamden resident Brandon Sullo are accused of stealing tires and rims from vehicles at the Honda and Toyota dealerships in Westport in October and November last year.

The two men became suspects "through the use of surveillance video, search warrants, and law enforcement information sharing" between Westport police and other agencies.

Higgins is being held in lieu of bail of $50,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on June 2.

Additional arrests are expected in connection with the case, according to Westport police.
