Big Y Opens New Supermarket On Post Road East In Westport

WESTPORT, CT — Big Y, the New England-based supermarket chain, opened its new Westport location Thursday morning at 1076 Post Road East, the site previously earmarked for an Amazon Fresh store.

News 12 Connecticut reported that doors opened at 7 a.m. for the store's soft launch, with an official grand opening scheduled for November.

Big Y operates more than 90 stores in Connecticut and Massachusetts, and employs more than 12,000 workers. It is hiring about 100 employees for the Westport store.

The store offers flexible shifts and scheduling options for its employees, in addition to paid holidays and time off, among other benefits.
