Childhood Cancer Awareness Walk/Run Scheduled In Westport
The walk and 5K run is hosted by Circle of Care.

News release from Circle of Care:
WESTPORT, CT — On Sunday, September 28, Circle of Care will host Make Tracks at Sherwood Island State Park—Connecticut’s only statewide walk and 5K run supporting all families in the state facing childhood cancer.
For the past decade, Circle of Care’s Walk/Run has brought the community together in Wilton. This year, the event relocates to Sherwood Island, reflecting the organization’s expanded reach and growing impact across Connecticut. Each year, about 200 children in the state are diagnosed with cancer, with more than 500 in treatment at any given time.

Open to the public, Make Tracks offers something for everyone: a timed 5K for runners and joggers, a relaxed untimed walk for all abilities, and activities for all ages. The event raises both awareness and vital funds to help Circle of Care provide practical, emotional, and financial support to families when it matters most—and there’s no better time to show support than during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September.
