Coffee With A Cop Event Wednesday In Westport
Westport police officers will be at McDonald's on the Post Road East on Wednesday morning.

WESTPORT, CT — Westport police officers will be at McDonald's, 701 Post Road East, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, for a "Coffee with a Cop" event, the department announced.
"When you stop in for your morning coffee, leave a little extra time to join your neighbors and police officers for coffee and conversation," officials wrote in a statement. "The goal is to create a space where there are no communication barriers, no speeches, no agenda, just honest conversations about issues affecting our community, a chance to ask questions and discuss local things to do and places to eat."
Since its inception in 2011, Coffee with a Cop events have served to build trust and help foster a sense of community, according to the department. Law enforcement agencies large and small have embraced the events as a way to connect with their residents and get to know each other over a cup of coffee.
