Contractor Accused Of Taking $20K But Not Finishing Work On Westport Home: Police

The case dates back to early 2024, according to authorities.

WESTPORT, CT — A Bridgeport man and contractor was arrested this week by Westport police on a first-degree larceny charge, after authorities said he took more than $20,000 from a Westport homeowner to do work, but never completed it.

Roy Saldana, 35, was arrested by Westport police Tuesday at Milford Superior Court, where Saldana was being held.

The case dates back to early 2024, after the homeowner paid Saldana $20,500 to do the work on the residence.

"This work was never completed and after waiting until the beginning of February 2024 for the work to be completed or the funds to be returned, neither of which happened, an arrest warrant was issued," said Capt. Eric Woods in a statement.

Saldana was released after posting bond on bail of $20,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on July 8.
