CT United Ride Canceled This Weekend: UPDATE

WESTPORT, CT — Sunday's annual CT United Ride, in honor of the victims and first responders of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, has been canceled, due to the forecast of inclement weather.

The popular event was scheduled to travel through Westport and eight other area communities.

"The United Ride has been cancelled as a result of impending inclement weather and related safety concerns," said Westport Police Lt. Matthew Gouveia in a statement. "Unfortunately, due to the significant requirements of the multiple permits involved, there is no rain date."
