Date Set For 2nd Annual Westport Country Playhouse Golf Tournament

WESTPORT, CT — Westport Country Playhouse will host its second Annual Golf Tournament on July 21 at Birchwood Country Club, 25 Kings Highway South, in Westport. Proceeds from the full-day event will benefit the Playhouse.

The tournament includes option to play nine or 18 holes of golf in a scramble format at Birchwood Country Club; lunch, cocktails, on-course drinks, and awards ceremony; full access to Birchwood’s locker room and facilities; entry into long drive and closest-to-the-pin contests (men and women’s); and a chance to win a new Callaway driver during the awards ceremony. Other prizes include tickets to Playhouse events, Encore Club memberships, credit to Playhouse concessions, and more.

The schedule of events begins with registration at 7:30 a.m., when the driving range and practice green will be open, followed by a shotgun start. A buffet lunch is scheduled at 12 p.m., with the afternoon shotgun to follow. A cocktail reception begins at 5 p.m.; winners and prizes will be announced at 5:30 p.m.

Player pricing levels are: Individual 9-hole, $295; foursome 9-hole, $1,100; individual 18-hole, $395; and foursome 18-hole, $1,500. Buffet lunch ticket only is $75. Registrants will be paired with other individual golfers to complete a foursome.

Birchwood Country Club has 83 acres of rolling countryside, providing a challenging and beautiful nine-hole layout. When playing 18 holes, several sets of tees offer different angles and look for players of all skill levels. The original Orrin Smith design features tightly cut fairways lined by dense rough and velvet-bent grass used on the putting surface.
