Dates Set For Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament Hosted By Famous Westport Couple
The 4th annual Colorectal Cancer Alliance Bottoms Up® Invitational Golf Tournament & Concert is ready to swing into action.
WESTPORT, CT — The fourth annual Colorectal Cancer Alliance Bottoms Up® Invitational Golf Tournament & Concert, hosted by Today Show anchor Craig Melvin and his wife, award-winning sportscaster Lindsay Czarniak, who are Westport residents, is scheduled for Sept. 14 and 15. The two-day fundraiser is in honor of Craig’s brother, Lawrence Meadows, who died from colorectal cancer at the young age of 43.
More than just a gathering of celebrities, the event shines a spotlight on an urgent cause. Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S. and is rising sharply among adults under 50. It is now the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men under 50, despite being preventable and highly treatable if caught early with timely screening. Last year, the Bottoms Up Invitational raised more than $1 million for the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, the nation’s largest nonprofit dedicated to ending the disease.
