David's Tea Becoming a Summertime Staple

Since the October opening of David's Tea, store manager Julia Ambrose, age 34, said, "It's been getting increasingly crazy."

With the summer here, she said, the store has gotten more popular than ever.

"Even when it's raining, we still get a lot of people out," Ambrose said. "Business has been really great."

Ambrose said David's Tea has become a hot spot "especially with the kids," from those as young as 5 all the way up to high schoolers. One of the reasons, she said, is that tea is a great alternative to soda - David's Tea offers a Tea Pop for $4.50 that has carbonated water in it.

The store has more than 150 flavors, more than 70 of which are organic. There is also a large selection of kosher teas and fair-trade teas, Ambrose said.

She said David's Tea prides itself most on "taking literally any customer and giving them the full experience" of making the teas.

Ambrose recommended several popular teas for summertime, including Forever Nuts, Mango Fruit Punch, Pink Lemonade, David's Organic Breakfast and Organic North African Mint.

David's Tea sells hot and iced tea in the store beside the materials to make tea at home. For a cup of one of the two flavors of the day, it costs $3, and for any other flavor, it is $4.

Located at 135 Main Street, the store is the only David's Tea location in Connecticut.
