Firefighters Called To Multiple Crashes In Westport

Two crashes were on I-95, and the other one was on the Merritt Parkway.

WESTPORT, CT — Westport firefighters and emergency medical technicians were called to three separate crashes on Tuesday, two of them involving injured parties.

The first crash was on I-95 northbound between exits 16 and 18, which involved a tractor trailer truck and two other vehicles.

No injuries were reported, but the three-vehicle crash resulted in the temporary closure of two lanes.

In the second crash, also on I-95, a box truck collided with a car southbound between exits 19 and 18 at about 10 a.m.

Two people were injured and were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The third crash occurred a short while later on the Merritt Parkway southbound between exits 27 and 21.

The three-vehicle crash temporarily blocked the right lane, and resulted in three people suffering injuries.

"We’d like to remind drivers to always slow down and move over when approaching emergency scenes — it keeps all responders and motorists safe," fire officials wrote on Facebook.
