Westport, CT – Conservation Director Alicia Mozian announced today that an educational forum related to the implementation of the Single-Use Plastics Ordinance will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the Town Hall Auditorium (110 Myrtle Avenue). Although geared toward food service establishments, all members of the public are welcome to attend.

On May 7, 2019 the Town of Westport adopted the ordinance prohibiting the sale and distribution by food service businesses of single-use food service containers that are made primarily of plastic, including blown polystyrene and expanded and extruded foams (like StyrofoamTM). Westport’s Single-Use Plastics Ordinance takes effect on November 7, 2019.
