Jane F. Hemingray

July 16, 1944 - May 22, 2024

Beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and treasured friend, Jane Hemingray (nee Foley), 79, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on May 22, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 16, 1944, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Foley.

Jane attended Stamford Catholic High School and continued her education at the University of Bridgeport. Her early career began at Clairol, but later after many years as a devoted stay-at-home mom, she returned to the workforce at IBM, dedicating over 25 years of exemplary service.
Jane found joy in simple pleasures: reading a good book, sitting by the water, and admiring beautiful flowers. She delighted in dinners and trips with friends, shopping, and new adventures. Yet, her greatest joy, however, came from spending time with her family and celebrating her children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments. Whether cheering on her grandchildren at dance performances, swim meets, sports games, or celebrating their academic achievements, Jane was always there, showing her unwavering love and proud support.
In her later years, Jane together with her loving husband Edward, found great joy in escaping the winter by heading to Naples, FL. For over a decade, they cherished long walks on the beach and sipped wine on the lanai while watching dolphins play in the water. They also enjoyed the vibrant shopping, dining, and live music scenes that Naples had to offer. These times were a source of immense happiness and relaxation for Jane and Edward, creating many beautiful, treasured memories.
Jane had a profound love for the holidays, delighting in every detail that made them special. She took great joy in decorating her home, offering a warm and festive atmosphere that welcomed everyone. Jane’s holiday celebrations were filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories, leaving an indelible mark on all who gathered to share in her joy.
Jane is survived by her beloved husband, Edward; her loving children, Denise Hawkins (Eric), Lisa Savone (Nick), Wendy McCabe (Jason), Edward Hemingray, Jr.; and her six adoring grandchildren, Chloe, Taylor, Stella, Leo, Avery and Braden. In addition to her parents, Jane was pre deceased by one brother John J. (Bud) Foley. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
