Jen Tooker Announces Six-Figure Fundraising Haul

Tooker, the First Selectwoman in Westport, is a Republican gubernatorial candidate.

WESTPORT, CT — Republican gubernatorial candidate Jen Tooker announced Thursday that her campaign has raised more than $100,000 in less than four months since announcing her run for the governor's office.

The announcement, ahead of Thursday’s filing deadline, follows a tally of more than $66,000 she raised in the first quarter.

Tooker is seeking her party's nomination to run for governor in 2026; incumbent Democratic Gov. Ned Lamont has not yet announced whether he will seek a third term.

"I’m proud of the strong support we’ve built in just a few months since launching my candidacy for Governor," Tooker said in a statement. "Over a decade of unchecked power in Hartford has made Connecticut unaffordable for far too many, with one of the highest tax burdens in the country, and one of the toughest states in which to start and grow a business. We can do better. It’s time for our leaders to ensure we get value for our hard-earned tax dollars, prioritize our residents, and create an environment where businesses can start and grow."

Tooker added, "My message is gaining traction with voters and business owners alike because I believe Connecticut is ready for a new direction — one that makes our beautiful state more affordable, more business-friendly, and a place where everyone can thrive."
