Letter To The Editor: Thank You WPD, WFD For Help Finding Dog
Patch reader Maura Hennessey was impressed with the recent efforts of Westport police and firefighters in helping to find a lost dog.
To the Editor:
I'd like to take a second to acknowledge and thank Westport PD and Fire for going above and beyond the call of duty last night for their efforts to find a lost dog.
While I'm sure it was NOT their #1 priority, from 8pm to 10pm while I was out assisting in the search, I noticed plenty of police and even a Fire Dept truck driving slowly and scanning dark roads and yards when they could. I also know they were keeping their eyes open earlier and later than that!

Police work isn't always chasing bad guys, A LOT of times it's helping the community in something meaningful as helping people who are devastated over a missing pet.
