Letter: Independent Impressed by Marpe

I am writing to express my complete support for Jim Marpe as Westport's next First Selectman.  As an independent voter, I vote strictly by candidate and their track records of constructive engagement and accomplishment.  I have recently gotten to know Jim well and am impressed by his professional acumen, openness, strength of character and his strong, selfless commitment to this community.  His constructive involvement with a long list of organizations in town, both civic and charitable, is extensive and well documented.  

Over the past several years, I have become increasingly concerned about the management and use of resources in our town.  Jim possesses the professional background and experience, leadership skills, and pragmatic management style to successfully manage and improve the town for the benefit of all its residents.  

I am confident that Jim Marpe will serve Westport in a bipartisan way, working with all parties for the betterment of all aspects of our community.  I have not typically provided explicit endorsements for local political candidates, but I am so confident that Jim will be an exceptional First Selectman that I wanted to voice my support in this way.
