Longshore Women's Golf Association Concludes George Buck Tourney

The winner is a former club champion.

The Longshore Women's Golf Association (LGWA) George Buck Tournament concluded in late June, and former club champion Phyllis Trefz came out on top over former LWGA president Linda Clair.

The closely played match on June 28 between Trefz and Clair was decided at 3 and 2. 

The tournament begins with a qualifying round, and then the top 16 players advance to match play competition over a three-week stretch.

The competition, which began in 1962, is named after one of the club's longtime professionals, who died in 1991.
