Major Accident Closes Part Of Merritt Parkway In Westport, Numerous Delays On I-95 Too

WESTPORT, CT — A section of the Merritt Parkway is closed in Westport Monday morning due to a pedestrian versus vehicle crash, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The accident was reported at 4:20 a.m. and there are numerous delays in Fairfield County on I-95 too.

Fairfield Public Schools said, "Please be aware that buses will be delayed this morning, September 15, due to an accident on the Merritt Parkway affecting our drivers’ arrival times. We appreciate your patience and understanding."
Fairfield police said, "Traffic Alert: Due to highway closures, Fairfield is experiencing higher than normal traffic. Expect delays and plan extra time for your travel. School buses are also delayed as a result. Please drive safely."

STRATFORD - Delays. I-95 Southbound is congested between Exits 32 and 18 (12.5 miles). Reported Monday, September 15 at 5:36 am.
NORWALK - Delays. I-95 Southbound is congested between Exits 14 and 6 (8.0 miles). Reported Monday, September 15 at 8:59 am.
