Major Road In Westport Closed Due To Downed Wires: Police
The incident occurred Friday afternoon, according to authorities.
WESTPORT, CT — The Post Road East in Westport near Maple Avenue is temporarily closed on Friday afternoon, due to downed wires that are across the entirety of the roadway, according to police.
No timeframe was given as to when the road will be reopened.
"Eversource has been notified of the incident, however it is unknown how long the road closure will last, as extensive repairs are required," said Westport Police Lt. Matthew Gouveia in a statement.

He added, "Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes, including Interstate 95, Greens Farms Road and
Long Lots Road, to avoid the affected areas."
