Suspect's Friend Fears He Stored Weapon Used in Westport Killing
The unidentified man nearly became sick after he found out he may have been storing the weapon used by the suspected killer.
When , he had a friend store his pistol in a safe in his garage, according to a report from The News Journal.
The friend, a real estate agent who had known Levene for five years, didn’t think twice when Levene asked for the gun back when he returned to Delaware for a visit three days prior to the murder. The unnamed man said he still wasn’t suspicious when Levene, an aspiring real estate agent, returned the weapon four days later.
Then the man got the surprise of a lifetime. In late January a friend notified him that of Westport jeweler Yekutiel Zeevi and attempted murder of his associate.

The man said he nearly became sick when he realized that the murder weapon may be in his garage, noting Levene picked the gun up to use it and returned it when he was done.
He alerted the authorities and Connecticut state police traveled to his home to interview him and retrieve the weapon.

Authorities said he was not a suspect in the investigation. Investigators were unable to confirm that the gun was used in the homicide.
