New Salsa Fresca Mexican Grill Location Opens In Westport

WESTPORT, CT — Salsa Fresca Mexican Grill's new Westport location officially opened this week, and the restaurant will celebrate with a grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration this weekend.

The chain's 12th location opened in Playhouse Square at 275 Post Road East on Monday. The grand opening event, scheduled for Saturday beginning at 11 a.m., will include special food and gear giveaways, as well as double rewards points for all Salsa Rewards program members.

Salsa Fresca COO Eric Friedman noted in a news release this was an exciting time for the company.

"I am especially looking forward to spending the day with customers at this new location, the first new opening for Salsa Fresca since I joined the team earlier this year," Friedman said in a news release, "and I am looking forward to making this location a thriving part of this community."

Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce president Matthew Mandell also expressed excitement over the addition of another new, exciting business in town.

"Westport continues to be a magnet, bringing new and varied businesses and restaurants to our town," Mandell said to Patch. "I look forward to them opening and trying some delicious food."

The grand opening festivities will also feature a ribbon cutting, where First Selectman Jim Marpe and other elected officials will visit the new restaurant and sample menu items.

"Westport is fortunate that businesses such as Salsa Fresca find a home here," Marpe said in a news release. "We are excited to have them become a part of our community and wish them much success."

According to Friedman, the company has been moving quickly to bring their "always fresh, never frozen" brand of menu items to more cities throughout the northeast. Salsa Fresca also plans to open new locations in Fairfield and Brewster, N.Y., in the next 90 days.

"We are planning a total of seven more new leases next year," Friedman said, "with exciting expansion into ten or more communities a year starting in 2023 all throughout the northeast."

Salsa Fresca offers an extensive menu of not just signature and build-your-own items, but also a selection of gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and nut-free options.

In addition to indoor and outdoor dining, the Westport restaurant also features an open kitchen concept that allows customers to see their meals prepared.

All employees are required to wear masks, follow heightened sanitation and cleanliness protocols and comply with all local and state coronavirus regulations, Friedman said.

Saturday's grand opening event is open to the public.
