NY Man Accused Of Illegal Cannabis Sales In Westport: Police
The suspect had been an employee of a smoke shop on the Post Road East, according to authorities.
WESTPORT, CT — A 25-year-old Brooklyn, New York man was arrested this week by Westport police on a warrant charging him with illegal cannabis sales in town, according to authorities.
Mohemed Hedimy was detained by Stamford police on Monday and was turned over to Westport police, which charged him with illegal sale/manufacture of cannabis.
The case began last March when Westport police received complaints of illegal marijuana sales being made at the Savvy Smoker store at 940 Post Road East.

"Based on the information gathered in this investigation a search warrant was sought and granted for the premises," wrote Westport Police Lt. Anthony Prezioso in a statement. "On April 8, 2025, members of the Westport Police Department along with the State of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection Drug Control Division executed this search and seizure warrant at the location. Various types of illegal marijuana and THC containing products were located and seized."
Following the raid, Westport police obtained a warrant for Hedimy's arrest, leading to his arrest on Monday.

Hedimy remains in custody in lieu bail of $20,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on March 3.
