Obituary: Margaret Labbrance DeMace, 91, Of Westport

She took pride in raising her three children and cherished her role as grandmother and great-grandmother.

MARGARET LABBANCE DEMACE (91) of Westport, CT, fondly known as Marge, passed away
peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 15, 2024. She was born September 11,
1932 to Margaret Labbance in Fairfield, CT. Due to the construction of I-95, she and her mother
relocated to Westport where she had the good fortune of meeting her neighbor who became the
love of her life. She married Dominick “Babe” DeMace on October 15, 1955. She took pride in
raising her three children and cherished her role as grandmother and great-grandmother. She
enjoyed her winters in Florida and loved to reminisce about the mission trips she and her
husband took with Assumption Parish. A devout Catholic, she was an active member of the
prayer network at the Assumption Church where you could find her at mass every Saturday
evening. She instilled the importance of family through the dedication and unconditional love
that she showed each day of her life.

She was predeceased by her husband Babe. She is survived by her children, David DeMace,
Danielle Yingling and Dominick DeMace (Joanne). Her grandchildren, Stephanie Fagan
(Joseph), Christina Bierwirth, Natalie, Emily, Elisabeth and Eric DeMace. Her three great
grandchildren, Connor and Devin Fagan and Andrew Bierwirth. As well as many beloved
nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday March 20,
2024 at Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, Westport, CT. A Mass of Christian burial
will take place at Church of the Assumption on Thursday March 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Burial
will follow at Saint John's Cemetery in Norwalk. In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorial contributions to Assumption Church in her name
