Old Mill Grocery & Deli by Romanacci Seeks Expansion Of Outdoor Dining

The owners of the building at 222 Hillspoint Road in Westport that houses the eatery have applied for a zoning amendment.

Information from the Town of Westport:

WESTPORT, CT — Planning & Zoning Director Michelle Perillie announced today that on November 4, 2024 at 6:00pm, the Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Commission will hold a public hearing to review two applications that may be of public interest.

  1. First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker, on behalf of the Parks and Recreation Department, is requesting a report from the P&Z Commission on a new lease with Longshore Sailing School on the Town-owned property known as Longshore Club Park, 260 Compo Road South. This replaces the former lease with a new lease with the same operator. The term of the lease is from the effective date to October 31, 2029 with an option for a 5 -year extension.
  2. Text Amendment #846 proposes to expand the Outdoor Eating Area and Liquor Establishment regulations to apply to existing Retail Food Establishments operating in a Residence Zone prior to September 1, 2024. This text amendment to the Zoning Regulations, authored by Attorney Eric Bernheim of FLB Law, is submitted on behalf of Soundview Empowerment Alliance Inc., owners of 222 Hillspoint Rd., occupied by Old Mill Grocery & Deli by Romanacci.

The November 4, 2024, public hearing will be held remotely using Zoom, it will be livestreamed on the Town’s website at www.westportct.gov, and/or will be accessible on Optimum Government Access Channel 79. The remote meeting link is published on the meeting agenda available on the Town’s website on the “Meeting List and Calendar” web page.

Written comments may be submitted and sent to PandZ@westportct.gov by 12:00pm on the day of the meeting if intended to be distributed for consideration by members of the P&Z Commission. Written comments received after 12:00pm on the day of the meeting will be added to the record but not be distributed until the next business day.
