Paving To Close Road In Westport: UPDATE
The closure is scheduled to run for several hours, according to authorities. Update.
WESTPORT, CT — Wakeman Farm Drive in Westport will be closed on Wednesday, Sept. 3, for paving, the Westport Police Department announced.
The closure began at 7 a.m., and was expected to run until 1 p.m., but according to police, the closure will last longer.
"Due to an unforeseen issue with the asphalt supply plant, this project and the associated closure is now expected to run several hours beyond the originally forecasted 1:00pm end time," wrote Westport Police Lt. Anthony Prezioso in a statement.

The closure will "extend from the stretch of roadway beginning at the intersection with Cross Highway and extending to the area of the baseball fields."
The closed off work area "will be completely inaccessible to all traffic and will be unavailable for parking."
