Pedestrian Struck by Car on Post Road in Westport

, EMS and responded and Emergency personnel treated the pedestrian at the scene and then transported her to Norwalk Hospital.

The pedestrian, Adrienne Garcia, 45, of New Milford, was attempting to cross four lanes of traffic on Post Road East in the area of Playhouse Square when she was struck by a 2000 Mercedes SUV driven by Saul Gideon, 60, of Norwalk.  According to witness statements, the Mercedes was driving eastbound on the Post Road and turned left into Playhouse Square with a green traffic control light and impacted Garcia who was in the outside westbound lane of Post Road East.

Garcia suffered non-life threatening injuries.  She was found at fault and issued an infraction ticket for failure to yield the right of way to a vehicle when not crossing within a crosswalk.
