911 Landline Calling Has Been Restored In Westport And State: UPDATE

Callers were asked to temporarily use cell phones to call 911 for emergencies on Tuesday. Update.

WESTPORT, CT — Westport residents can again use landline phones to call 911 on Tuesday, after the statewide 911 system was temporarily shutdown by "intermittent telephone outages," according to authorities.

"All methods of reporting an emergency via 911 have been restored and are operational," Westport police wrote in a statement Tuesday afternoon.
