Illegal Marijuana Products Again Found During Raid Of This Westport Smoke Shop: PD

The shop was raided about a month ago, when illegal marijuana products were seized.

WESTPORT, CT — Westport police on Tuesday raided the Savvy Smoker, a smoke shop at 940 Post Road East, for the second time in a month, and again seized illegal marijuana products, according to authorities.

No arrests were made in Tuesday's raid, but "the investigation remains ongoing and additional arrests are anticipated," said Westport Police Lt. Jillian Cabana.

During the first raid of the shop on March 11, pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes, canisters of THC flower, THC vape cartridges and other THC products were seized. One person, a 24-year-old sales associate from Brooklyn, New York, was arrested at the time.

Various smoke shops in Connecticut have been raided by police in the past couple of years, since recreational marijuana was approved for use.

In January, several Stamford smoke shops were raided, and thousands of illegal products were seized, and in February, a smoke shop in Greenwich had more than 1,200 illegal products seized.

Last fall, illegal cannabis products were also seized at a smoke shop in Norwalk.
