Interested In Running For Political Office? Westport Democrats Want To Hear From You

WESTPORT, CT — The Westport Democratic Town Committee is accepting applications from potential candidates interested in becoming nominees for the Board of Education, Board of Finance, Planning and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Board of Assessment Appeals, the party announced.
The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 20. Election Day 2025 is Nov. 4.
"Serving on a town board is a rewarding and meaningful way to support our community," said Michelle Mechanic, DTC Chair, in a statement. "We have had a long history of electing Democrats who make a real and positive difference in Westport, and we are seeking candidates to build on that important legacy."

Earlier this year, the party put out the call for a candidate for First Selectman, and Board of Education member Kevin Christie stepped up to seek the nomination.
To be considered as a candidate for one of the offices, a person must be a Westport resident and registered Democrat. Those who apply are asked to submit a statement of interest and bio or resume to Michael Gordon at mgordon906@gmail.com between now and the deadline.
