Public Forum Scheduled In Westport On E-Bike Safety & Regulations

The event is free and open to the public, with no registration required.

WESTPORT, CT — The Westport Police Department will hold a public forum next month to address the growing use of electric bicycles in the community and to discuss related safety practices and evolving laws.

The forum is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on May 13 at the Town Hall Auditorium, 110 Myrtle Avenue. The event is free and open to the public, with no registration required.

Officers and department representatives will provide information on current e-bike regulations, local enforcement efforts, and safety guidance for families and children. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and share feedback.

"As e-bikes become increasingly popular for recreation and transportation, we want to ensure our community understands the laws and best practices for using them safely," Police Chief Foti Koskinas said in a statement. "This forum is a chance for open dialogue and proactive education."
