Public Menorah Lighting Scheduled In Westport Thursday

WESTPORT, CT — The Schneerson Center for Jewish Life, CT will be hosting several local area community Menorah lightings for the festival of Chanukah, which begins Wednesday evening, December 25 and ends on Thursday, January 2nd. Chanukah, the Festival of Lights, commemorates the Maccabees' victory over the Greek-Syrian army and the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem. The miracle of the oil, which lasted eight days despite only being a one-day supply, is central to the celebration. The Menorah symbolizes hope and freedom, especially relevant today as we continue to strive for religious freedom and tolerance in a world often marked by conflict and division. Chanukah is celebrated for eight nights, lighting one additional candle each night, symbolizing increasing light and goodness.

Wilton Community Menorah Lighting Thursday, December 26 at 4:00 PM

The giant outdoor Menorah at the Wilton Town Green in Wilton, CT will be lit Thursday, December 26 at 4:00 PM.

The lighting will include live music and wrapped Chanukah cookies, gelt, dreidels, and is perfect for the whole family. This lighting has been a tradition in Wilton for the past 18 years and enjoyed by all. The lighting will be conducted by Rabbi Levi Stone of the Schneerson Center for Jewish Life, CT. Weston Community Menorah Lighting Celebration - Thursday, December 26 at 5:30 PM

The giant outdoor Menorah at the Weston Shopping Center, 190 Weston Rd., Weston, CT will be lit Thursday, December 26 at 5:30 PM. The lighting will include live music and wrapped Chanukah cookies, gelt, dreidels, and is perfect for the whole family. The lighting celebration has been a Weston tradition beginning approximately 20 years ago with Selectman Woody Bliss.
