Second Arrest Made In Westport Bank Robbery
Two New York men have been arrested in connection with a string of robberies in Connecticut and Rhode Island.

WESTPORT, CT — Police arrested a man who they say admitted to driving the getaway car in a bank robbery at the TD Bank on the Post Road back in July. Loang Manpign, 24, of Bronx, NY, was arrested Tuesday at Norwalk Court in connection with the bank robbery.
Police say the New York Police Department fugitive task force stopped Manpign and Alpha Jalloh in New York and took them into custody. Westport officers traveled to interview the suspects, where they say both admitted to the robbery.

On July 2, 2017 at approximately 12:57PM, the Westport Police responded to TD Bank, 1111 Post Road East on a report of an alarm. While en route to the bank, responding officers were advised that a bank robbery had just taken place. The suspect had passed a note to the bank employee telling him a robbery was occurring and he had a gun.
Video surveillance showed a 2006-2008 Lincoln MKZ or Lincoln Zephyr enter the parking lot just prior to the robbery and leave right after the suspect exited the bank.
Police also say they are responsible for robberies in Waterbury, Darien and Rhode Island.
Manpign was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery in the second and conspiracy to commit larceny in the third degree. He is held on a $100,000 cash bond.
