Summer Program Registration to Resume on March 15
Parks and Recreation Director Stuart McCarthy announced that the summer program registration postponed earlier today will resume on Thursday, March 15 at 9 a.m. At that time there will be program availability for all programs.

At approximately 9:10 a.m. today during the initial stages of the summer program registration, the ActiveNet service that manages online registration for the Town of Westport Parks and Recreation Department went off line.
“Once the service interruption exceeded a reasonable time for restoration, the Parks and Recreation Department made the decision, in fairness to all customers, to suspend program registration,” McCarthy said.

Registrations that were in progress at the time of the system failure including those with items in the shopping cart have not been completed. Customers who had transactions in progress must log in and begin the transaction from the beginning.
“The Parks and Recreation Department staff apologizes for the great inconvenience customers suffered as a result of the system failure,” said McCarthy. “We understand the importance our summer programs have to Westporters and their families. We understand the efforts many of you made to be online promptly at 9 a.m. today and appreciate your enthusiasm for our programs.”
The suspension of registration and the subsequent resumption on Thursday represents the fairest possible solution allowing sufficient time to all customers to make necessary accommodations.
“We apologize for this inconvenience,” he said. “We will be working diligently with our software partner to avoid similar failure in the future and we look forward to the opportunity to continuing to serve you and your family."
