Suspect Accused Of Stealing $10,000 Worth Of Jewelry From Westport Home: Police
The theft was reported in May, according to authorities.

WESTPORT, CT — A 41-year-old Stamford man was arrested on a warrant charging him with second-degree larceny in connection with the theft of $10,000 worth of jewelry from a home in Westport, according to authorities.
Fran Zuluaga-Restrepo surrendered to Westport police on Aug. 7, after the department contacted him about the active warrant.
The theft was reported by the victim in May.

"A review of pawn transactions showed that some of these missing items had been recently pawned by an individual identified as Fran Zuluaga-Restrepo," wrote Westport Police Lt. Anthony Prezioso in a statement. "Further investigation revealed that Zuluaga-Restrepo had been working for a company that had provided service at the victim’s home prior to the reported theft."
Detectives interviewed Zuluaga-Restrepo during the investigation, and "he confessed to taking items from the victim’s home."

Zuluaga-Restrepo was released after posting bond on bail of $25,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 18.
