Suspect Identified in January Westport CVS Robbery

On January 23 at approximately 7:15 p.m. a Danbury man tried to rob a female victim of her purse, police said.

The woman was exiting when a lone man -- now identified as Brendan S. Kravarik of Danbury -- attempted to steal her handbag, which pulled her to the ground, police said.

The victim began screaming and the suspect let go of the handbag and fled the scene in a vehicle.  

Security tapes from CVS had captured the suspect entering the store. In the course of the investigation by the Westport Police Department Detective Bureau, they developed information on the suspect. On February 27, an arrest warrant was secured for Kravarik for second-degree attempted criminal robbery sixth-degree criminal attempted larceny.

Attempts to locate Kravarik by Westport police and other police agencies have been unsuccessful. Kravarik is believed to be in the Danbury area.
