Traffic Advisory Issued For Weekend Protest In Westport

WESTPORT, CT — A traffic advisory has been issued for Saturday's planned Fight the Trump Take Over protest on the Ruth Steinkraus Cohen Bridge (Route 1), which is expected to begin at 11 a.m. The protest is scheduled to end at 12:30 p.m.

"The Westport Police are anticipating a larger attendance than seen at the weekly scheduled demonstrations," wrote Capt. Jillian Cabana in a statement. "Police will have a significant presence in the area to assist with both pedestrian and vehicular traffic, but encourage motorists to seek alternate routes."

Motorists who choose to drive through downtown Westport on Saturday during the event, are asked to "be patient and alert to the increased pedestrian traffic."
