Trapped Cats Rescued In Westport: Fire Department
A mother cat and her kittens, had become stuck in a storm drain pipe on the Post Road East, according to authorities.
WESTPORT, CT — The five kittens and mother cat that were stuck in a Westport storm drain pipe have been freed, and will be put up for adoption, according to Westport fire officials.
"Great news! All five kittens and the mama cat have been rescued from the storm pipe!" authorities wrote on Facebook. "A huge thank you to [Westport Animal Shelter Advocates], the firefighters, Animal Control, and Animals in Distress for their incredible help in saving this furry family."
The cats became stuck over the weekend, and firefighters had to make multiple attempts to rescue them.

The six will be available for adoption through Animals in Distress in Wilton.
"Rumor has it that even though they aren’t turtles, they may be named after the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, since they emerged from the sewers just like their namesakes!" fire officials said.
