Two Charged after 'Target Practice' Near Merritt Parkway

Two men were charged with criminal trespass and reckless endangerment this week after the were found conducting "target practice" with an air rifle behind the brush dump in Westport, according to police.

Igor Pikayzen, 25, of Westport and Henry Flory, 26, of Virginia, reportedly crossed the fence near the brush dump on Bayberry Lane to enter the woods adjacent to the Merritt Parkway on Tuesday, police said.

An attendant at the brush dump alerted police to the two men. Westport and state police officers responded and located the two men in the woods, about 100 feet from the Merritt Parkway, with a Crossman Air Rifle, according to department spokesperson Capt. Vincent Penna said.

The men reportedly told police they were using the rifle for target practice. Pikayzen and Flory were each charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree criminal trespass, and second-degree breach of peace.

They were released after each posting a $1,000 bond and are scheduled to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on July 19.
