2 Educators Launch Podcast At Westport Library's Verso Studios

WESTPORT, CT — Two longtime education professionals have launched a new community podcast aimed at strengthening communication and partnerships between parents and educators.

Peggy Bud and Tamara Jacobson, who together have more than 60 years of experience as educators, administrators, and consultants, debuted the podcast Ask the Educators on Thursday. The series is a collaboration with Verso Studios, the media initiative of The Westport Library.

The podcast launched with three 15-minute episodes, with new installments set to be released every two weeks. Episode four is scheduled for release on April 30.

Available through the Verso Studios podcast platform, as well as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Substack, and the Navigating Special Education website, the show aims to offer practical guidance on issues facing today’s parents and teachers. Topics include effective communication around Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), navigating grief, and a framework called the “5-C Model of Communication.”

Bud and Jacobson, co-authors of Navigating Special Education: The Power of Building Positive Parent Educator Partnerships, and Conversations Lead to Consensus, describe the podcast as an extension of their work to foster constructive dialogue and collaboration in educational settings.

"Ask the Educators provides parents, teachers, and administrators with insights on placing the child at the center of the conversation," the pair said in a joint statement.

The show is produced under the Verso Studios Community Producer Partnership, a program designed to engage community members in content creation.
